New and Old from Upper Tallinn–Toompea Hill
Tallinn is the only city thus far that has had large portions of the original wall remaining along with watch towers. The historic center is in direct contrast to the florishing and dynamic city visible in the background.
Old Town Tallinn consists of two differnt towns that form the historic area–Toompea Hill and the Lower Town. Toompea was home to the aristocracy and clergy while the Lower Town housed wealthy merchants, stylish and commercialy successful but less refined craftsmen and freemen.
