Christiansborg Palace Tower

.
Christiansborg Palace tower–actually a complex of government buildings standing on the ruins of Copenhagen’s original 12th century fortress. Visitors have access to a series of royal reception rooms furnished with 16th century furniture set in a background of brilliantly colored and tapestried walls. Queen Margaret seems to be a very vibrant and present influence. The “Great Hall” is the the signature room because the walls are hung with modern tapestries installed in 2000. Designed by a Danish artist, Bjorn Norgard, they depict 1000 years of Danish history through the present

At this moment we are seated outside the Blackdiamond, the ultra modsern library, along a canal using their network. Bob is watching the canal traffic along with tables filled with locals savoring the sunny early evening. These people savor the long summer eveings. We just saw a canal boat go by filled with a wedding party toasting their new life.
