A National Archery Tournament
Nearly all villages in the kingdom have an archery range. Competitions are a riot of color and excitement with each of the two teams in traditional dress shooting at a small wooden target placed about 140m apart. The distance is so great that the team members gather dangerouly close to the target to relay back information (scream) about the archer’s aim. This is punctuated with howls, chants, jokes, encouragement and little dances. The archers, along with their cheering sections perform dances between play as well as celebratory slow moving dances and song for outstanding shots.
